Low Self Esteem/Self-Confidence

Low self-esteem is offset and confidence is generated by IDL by becoming interviewed characters that have those characteristics. In the interviewing protocols interviewed characters are routinely asked, “How do you score yourself in confidence, 0-10?” Those that score high will often recommend students become them when they lack confidence or self-esteem.
This is not a quick fix. Authentic self-esteem and confidence develop over time, largely as a result of demonstrated competencies in our daily life. We are responsible; we keep our promises; we are genuinely empathetic; we earn and gain the respect of others. IDL interviewing regularly exposes students to sources of unconditional acceptance, which generates self-esteem based on authenticity rather than on the feedback and acceptance of other humans. Both exterior and interior sources of feedback and validation are therefore required to build authentic self-esteem and confidence, and IDL supplies both.
