Ethics & Scope

Responsible boundaries for Integral Deep Listening practice

Ethical Principles

  • IDL is a listening method, not a clinical intervention
  • Maintain consent and confidentiality in all contexts
  • Recognize limits of expertise — refer when necessary
  • Respect age, developmental stage, and cultural context

Scope of Practice

  • Parents & caregivers: peer and developmental support only
  • Clinicians: adjunctive, reflective, and integrative application
  • Practice Groups / Sanghas: self-directed study, non-therapeutic facilitation

Responsible Transmission

  • Train others only after completing foundational modules
  • Emphasize listening stance over content authority
  • Embed reflective review and feedback in group practice
