Group Practice Overview

Group Practice in IDL involves two complementary forms of learning:

  1. working with a study partner for ongoing problem-solving in applying interview recommendations to daily life, along with mutual accountability for staying on track with accreditation goals; and
  2. participating in online or in-person groups of parents, caregivers, coaches, practitioners, or trainers, known as IDL Salons.

Accreditation is strongly recommended to be undertaken with a study partner, as this significantly increases follow-through, integration, and overall success in the program.

  • For information on forming or joining a group:

Together, these practices form one of IDL’s two Sanghas (sacred communities): the intersocial sangha of peers and groups. The other is your intrasocial sangha—the internal community of perspectives you have previously interviewed, which can offer ongoing support, guidance, and cybernetic course-correction.
