When you interview yourself you become the perspective you are interviewing.
This means your waking state is temporarily not engaged. As a result, just as with dreams, you are likely to assume that you will remember but find you quickly forget. This is true for those you interview as well. If a record of the interview, who was interviewed and when, what they said, what they recommended, what the action plan was, and what the outcome was, forgetting is not only natural but typically complete. You can check this out for yourself by reading over an “old” interview. Typically you will be surprised at its relevance and cogency and wonder how you could have forgotten it.
The following table is a way for you to keep track of your interviews. IDL recommends you also create such tables for each person you interview, keep a copy and give a copy to them.
