Accreditation Levels & Competencies

IDL Accreditation is structured in three progressive levels, each building on the previous one:

1. Parent/Caregiver

Core Competencies:

  • Conducting structured interviews of dreams, nightmares, life issues, and transpersonal experiences

Requirements:

  1. Submission of at least one self-interview every week using this on-line protocol
  2. Submission of at least one interview of another person every other week
  3. Passing (70%) of the 12 module quizzes following the on-line slide presentations
  4. Ongoing monitoring of one or more interview application
  5. Consultation with a fellow student at least once a week regarding application
  6. Keeping track of interviews, recommendations, and application
  7. Reading assignments, with follow up review questions and 10 question quiz

2. IDL Coach

Focus: Facilitating personal growth and transformation for individuals or small groups.

Core Competencies:

  • Conducting structured interviews of dreams, nightmares, life issues, and transpersonal experiences
  • Supporting organic rescripting, balancing, and transformation
  • Supporting emotional regulation and restructuring in clients
  • Integrating IDL principles into individualized coaching plans
  • Documenting sessions according to ethical standards

Requirements:

  1. Submission of at least one self-interview every week using this on-line protocol
  2. Submission of at least one interview of another person every other week
  3. Passing (70%) of the 12 module quizzes following the on-line slide presentations

  3. Research with peers on use of IDL with a population of choice

3. IDL Dream Yoga Trainer

Focus: Teaching, mentoring, and accrediting new IDL practitioners and coaches.

Core Competencies/Requirements:

  1. Continuation of previous level requirements
  2. Learning Dream Sociometry
  3. Applying Dream Sociometric concepts in practice
  4. Conducting peer-reviewed research
  5. Designing and delivering IDL training programs
  6. Supervising accreditation processes

Scope of Practice

IDL-accredited professionals may:

  • Facilitate individual and group sessions using IDL frameworks
  • Apply therapeutic listening and dream transformation methods
  • Offer workshops, educational programs, and training within ethical boundaries
  • Contribute to research and development in IDL practices
  • Collaborate with allied professionals to enhance holistic care

IDL accreditation supplements, enhances, and formalizes your listening and transformational skills—it is not a substitute for regulated clinical qualifications.


Requirements for Accreditation

To achieve IDL Accreditation, candidates must:

  1. Complete the Required Training: Attend all modules in the designated IDL certification program for your chosen level.
  2. Demonstrate Competence: Successfully complete assessments, practical exercises, and supervised sessions.
